Oregon University System (OUS) institutions offer a wide variety of teacher preparation programs. The OUS Chancellor’s Office works with statewide education partners and campus programs on a variety of initiatives designed to support the Board's education priority areas and to address the state's needs in teacher shortage areas. The OUS has produced an advising guide “How to Become an Oregon Teacher” to assist pre-college, community college, college, and university students, advisors, and faculties in understanding the admission and program requirements in becoming an educator in Oregon. OUS also develops and coordinates policy directives related to teacher education.
